The Fifty Plus Rambling Group was formed in 2000 and is based in the West Midlands. The membership is open to Ramblers in the West Midlands who are aged 50 or over. walks take place Mondays except for Bank Holiday Mondays. Public transport from the meeting point ( usually Birmingham City Centre) is used to reach the starting point of the walk and for the return, although some members prefer to use their own transport . The meeting time is generally after 10am so that members can use their Concessionary Bus Pass . Walks are devised and guided by individual members and generally take place within the West Midlands area or close by, examples include Alcester , Malvern Hills , Cannock Chase. The length of the walks is normally between 5 and 9 miles and rated easy.
